Giving the Injection
Choose the injection site. Pinch the skin and push the pen needle into the skin fold. Press the push button all the way in. With the button fully depressed, instruct the patient to keep the needle in the skin for 5-10 seconds (5 seconds for smaller doses, 10 seconds for larger doses) to ensure the full dose has been delivered. Keep the push button fully depressed until the needle is removed from the skin.
